Electrification (Returnee Community)

A lack of infrastructure in rural areas, including roads and electrification, can be a major obstacle to sustainable return. Funding allocations infrastructural projects, such as electrification, should be based on needs and vulnerability rather than on political objectives.

The revised Strategy for the Implementation of Annex VII of the Dayton Peace Agreement highlights the need to support the electrification of returnee communities.

The implementation of the revised Strategy and the electrification of returnee areas by the BiH authorities will contribute to the sustainability of return. The electrification of Gornji and Donji Brodar will ensure that these communities have a viable future and a sense of connection, rather than one of isolation.
